How reviews work on FluxStays

Every review on FluxStays comes from a real stay, says how that stay was verified, and is shown whatever its rating.

Who can write a review

Only a guest with a single-use review link can write one. A link comes from one of three places, and each review carries a label saying which:

What hotels can and cannot do

A hotel can invite its guests, reply once publicly to each review, and report a review that breaks a rule.

A hotel cannot write, edit, choose, hide or pay for a review, and a report does not hide a review by itself.

Hotels are asked to invite every guest, not a selection, and to offer nothing for a review. A hotel that breaks these rules loses the right to invite.

No rewards

Nobody is paid or rewarded for a review. If a hotel offered you anything for one, report the review or write to [email protected].

Before a review goes live

An automatic check masks phone numbers, emails and web addresses, and holds a review with abusive language or signs that it was written by someone at the hotel. A person then decides, usually within 24 hours.

What we remove

A review or a reply is removed only under one of these rules, the same for one star and for five. A negative review is not a reason.

Languages

Each review is shown in the language it was written in, with a label. We do not machine-translate reviews.

Deleting your review

The confirmation email has a link that deletes your review. Only you have it; nobody else can withdraw your review.

Reports

Anyone can report a review or a hotel's reply. A person reads every report and decides against the rules above.
