Privacy and data

Last updated 2026-09-29

FluxStays (fluxstays.com) is operated by FluxSoft Technologies LLC, a US limited liability company. FluxStays is a directory, not an online travel agency: it never takes a booking commission and never holds a guest's money — it never renders a payment field at all. This page covers the data FluxStays itself collects, from the people who search it and the operators who claim a listing on it.

What we collect, and why

Anonymous usage analytics: page views, which destination and corridor filters are used, outbound click counts to a hotel's own site or booking engine, and WhatsApp-lead counts. This tells us which pages and listings are working, so we know what to fix. It is not tied to your name or email.

Operator claim data: when someone claims a listing, we store the name, email, and which listing was claimed, plus the phone-call or email verification record. This exists to confirm the right person is speaking for a property and to stop a listing from being hijacked.

Standard server logs: every request carries an IP address, a timestamp and the page requested. We keep an IP address for 30 days at most, to run the service, debug an outage and rate-limit abusive traffic, then delete it, including one recorded with a claim.

Terms acceptance: when you tick the box to accept the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, we store which version you accepted, when, and the language of the page. The acceptance record holds no IP address.

Data you give us directly: a review (tied to a single-use token issued only against a real, completed stay), a data-export or deletion request, and a message you send through the trip planner.

A saved-stays list lives only in your browser's local storage. It is never sent to our servers.

Trip planner

When you use the trip planner, we store your question and the planner's answer. Before a question is stored, email addresses, phone numbers and card- or ID-like numbers are removed from it. The planner reads your message as you wrote it, only to answer it.

We use what is stored to answer your trip, to improve the planner, and to find destinations travellers ask about that FluxStays does not list yet. If you rate an answer, we store the rating and your optional note, with the same details removed.

A trip and its messages are deleted 90 days after the trip is started. A question, with personal details already removed, may be kept longer in the set of test questions we use to check the planner; it is only ever sent to the planner. Trips are not tied to your name, an account, an IP address or a device.

We never sell planner conversations and never use them to build an advertising profile. To have a trip deleted sooner, email [email protected] with the trip's link.

What we do not collect

FluxStays never asks for or stores a card number, an expiry date or a CVV. When you continue to a hotel, you leave FluxStays and pay the hotel directly, on the hotel's own site or by the hotel's own means — FluxStays never sees that payment.

Lawful basis

We process usage analytics and server logs under legitimate interest — running and securing a free directory. We process operator claim data under contract (fulfilling the claim you asked for) and legitimate interest (preventing fraud). Where a jurisdiction requires consent for a specific category, the cookie/consent notice on every page is where that consent is asked for and recorded.

We do not sell your data

FluxSoft Technologies LLC does not sell, rent or trade personal data to anyone, for any reason. Revenue comes from software subscriptions and labelled placement paid for by hotels and operators, never from data about the people who search FluxStays.

Cookies and similar technology

FluxStays sets one essential session cookie so the search and claim forms on this site work at all, plus a cookie/consent record noting your choice below. Nothing beyond that is stored on your device unless you press Accept on the notice that appears on your first visit; that choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie, and you can change it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for fluxstays.com.

Third parties

Cloudflare sits in front of FluxStays as a content-delivery and security layer; it sees the same IP addresses and requests any web host sees, to stop abusive traffic before it reaches our servers.

OpenFreeMap serves the map tiles on stay and destination pages; it receives only anonymous tile requests (a map area, not your identity).

Stripe processes payment when a hotel or operator pays FluxSoft for software or placement — never a guest's stay. Stripe handles that card data directly; it never passes through FluxStays' own servers.

None of these third parties receive personal data beyond what running the service through them requires, and none of them are paid for data about you.

Unclaimed listings

Some properties are listed before their owner has claimed them. An unclaimed listing carries only public facts (name, address, coordinates, phone) and photos FluxStays is licensed to use, with a visible line that the listing is not an endorsement. If you are the owner and want a listing corrected, claimed or removed, a takedown request to [email protected] is answered within 24 hours.

Children

FluxStays is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us data, contact [email protected] and we will remove it.

Where your data is kept

FluxStays runs on Hetzner infrastructure in the European Union. Server logs, the property and operator database, and claim records all live there.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, using the form below or by emailing [email protected]. We aim to answer within 24 hours and to complete a straightforward request within 30 days. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request is really yours before acting on it.

Governing law

FluxSoft Technologies, LLC is a Delaware (US) company. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without prejudice to the mandatory data-protection rights of the country you live in.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the product changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed; a material change will be reflected here before it takes effect.
