FluxStaysBot
FluxStaysBot checks that the website listed for a hotel on FluxStays is online, so travellers are not sent to a dead or parked page. It does not copy content, photos or prices from your site.
What it does
- One GET request for the page listed, following at most 3 redirects, reading at most the first 64 kB.
- At most one request per second to the same site, from a small number of parallel workers.
- A listing is re-checked about once a month.
- It never submits forms or logs in.
Before we email a hotel
- Before FluxStays emails a hotel, FluxStaysBot checks that the address is published on the hotel's own website: the homepage and at most 2 contact or booking pages on the same site.
- It reads robots.txt first and obeys it; a site that disallows FluxStaysBot is not read, and that hotel is not emailed.
- At least one second between requests to the same site, or the site's Crawl-delay if longer. After a 429 or 503 answer it waits as asked (at most 60 seconds) and tries once more.
- It reads only the email addresses the page shows its visitors, keeps the result for 7 days, and never contacts a mail server to test an address.
- It never reads booking platforms, search engines or social networks.
How to recognise it
Every request carries this User-Agent:
